Tennessee Senate Passes ESA Program

This morning the Tennessee Senate passed Governor Bill Lee’s Education Savings Account (ESA) Program, moving the Volunteer State one step closer to providing families with additional high quality educational options.

Statement from Shaka Mitchell, State Director for the Tennessee Federation of Children:
“Today’s vote is yet another significant step in the effort to expand parental choice in education in Tennessee. Senators took a strong stand to side with Tennessee students and parents over the defenders of an unacceptable status quo. We commend Governor Bill Lee, Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally, Majority Leader Jack Johnson, Chairman Dolores Gresham, and many others in the Senate for their leadership to improve education in our great state.”
